The History of Come To Me Oil
After the American Civil War, African Americans began moving from rural areas to large cities in both the north and south. Separated from their access to traditional Hoodoo roots and herbs, they began to purchase these items through the mail.
Ads in magazines offering Hoodoo inspired magical items began appearing as early as the 1920s. The products offered assured users of wondrous results in love, luck, and businesses.
In the 1930s, Harry Middleton Hyatt traveled around the American South interviewing Hoodoo practitioners. His compiled interviews, published as “Hoodoo – Conjuration – Witchcraft – Rootwork” spans thousands of pages and covers many Hoodoo conjure oils still around today. However, Come To Me oil is not mentioned in any of his interviews, which implies it was probably first created after 1940.
How to use Come To Me Oil
You can use Come To Me oil in a number of ways to bring love into your life. Try more than one to improve your chances!
As a cologne or perfume to attract love
You can wear Come To Me Oil as a cologne or perfume to attract love. Just put a few drops on your neck or shoulders to draw love to you. When you’re around someone you’re interested in, remember the magic oil you’re wearing and think clearly, “Come to me!”
In a Spiritual Bath
You can start or end your day with a focus on bringing love into your life by using Come To Me oil in a spiritual bath.
Just add 5 drops of Come To Me oil to your bath water before you get in. At some point during your bath, immerse yourself under the water, and in your mind picture yourself being immersed in love.
With Candle Magic
Come To Me oil works great with Hoodoo candle magic, because candles are also often used in love magic.
If you’re using Come To Me oil to bring love into your life, use a pink candle. If it’s pure lust you’re after, use a red one. And hey, if you want both, use both color candles.
If there’s a specific someone you’re looking to draw to you, write their name on a piece of paper and fold that paper towards you three times. Place the paper under the candle.
Dress the candle with a few drops of Come To Me oil. As you light the candle, try and picture what your ideal lover would look like, act like, be like.
If you’re a Christian, you can recite Psalm 23 after you light the candle. It’s used often in Hoodoo love magic, and begins:
“The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.”
With a Love Drawing Mojo Bag
Mojo bags, also called gris gris, are used to contain, combine, and multiply the power of more than one root or herb. It also means you can keep that magic on you at all times.
For this mojo bag, you’ll need:
- A pair of Adam & Eve roots
- A pinch of sugar as a sweetener
Place them in a red flannel bag and tie them shut. Feed the bag 3 drops of Come To Me oil every week, and keep the mojo on you in your left pocket.
